Reports yesterday that the mayor plans to convene a committee on the Columbia River Crossing may have been premature.

City hall sources say that Adams is in ongoing negotiations over lane numbers for the bridge, and that the motion to convene a "council" for the Columbia River Crossing was placed on the the council agenda as a "placeholder," in case the negotiations weren't completed by tomorrow. The indication, now, is that Adams may have a more concrete recommendation at tomorrow afternoon's hearing.

Adams' spokesman, Roy Kaufmann, is yet to return the Mercury's call on the story, from yesterday.
