Folk musician Jeffrey Lewis has—are you ready for this? Brace yourself—a nerdy side, as evidenced by the fact that he wrote his college thesis on Watchmen. Prior to his performance at the Artistery on Wednesday, he'll be giving a lecture on the book (with slides!) in which he promises to talk about "things that [he's] found in the book and [his] theories on what they mean, hopefully sufficiently backed up by evidence from the book." Of course, he requests that attendees read the source material before the lecture—so if you haven't read it yet, swing by Floating World, where purchase of the book'll snag you a free ticket to Lewis' lecture/performance. You should read it before the movie comes out anyway. (Or maybe not, if you actually want to enjoy the movie.) Read Ezra's interview with Lewis about Watchmen here. Floating World is at 20 NW 5th Ave, #101; the lecture is at the Artistery, 4315 SE Division, 7:30 pm, $7. I believe that's all you need to know.
