April has once again been designated "Portland Comics Month"—there about 40 comics-related events happening all over town, anchored, of course, in next week's Stumptown Comics fest. Other events include the second annual "Alter Egos: Power Struggle" costumed pub crawl; a Comic Book Legal Defense Fund/Stumptown Comics Foundation benefit dinner with Jeff Smith, Craig Thompson, and others; and a 24-hour comic challenge at Cosmic Monkey, where participants have 24 hours to draw a 24-page comic. Details, and a full events list here—and while we're on the subject, Mike Russell's comics-form interview with Jeff Smith is worth checking out.

Tonight at Mississippi Studios, the fourth anniversary of the Loggernaut reading series, with Carrie Brownstein, David J. Morris, and B.T. Shaw. OMG SLEATER-KINNEY REUNION!!

Fresh off their funniest show in years, the 3rd Floor sketch comedy troupe has been invited to join Mirah, Blitzen Trapper, and Reggie Watts for a taping of Jess Thorne's The Sound of Young America at the upcoming Bridgetown Comedy festival.

Powell's has just announced that as of April 24, they'll have a table at the PSU farmer's market, selling a "curated selection" of books on "topics that are relevant to the market season, for example seed gardening in the spring, barbequing in the summer, and preserving in the fall." Convenient, yes?

And finally, no I don't want to feel old.
