The gourmet sandwich shop trend continues: Steve Carder just opened The Peoples' Sandwich of Portland on Thursday at 53 NW 1st, just in time for America's birthday, not that their logo seems at all patriotic:
The web site is still pending, but according to the Twitter page they're offering cheese steak, Cuban, hot Italian, and veggie sandwiches. Here's the Cuban, with "House made ham and pork loin, swiss cheese with house made pickel, mayo and mustard."
Has anyone on Blogtown been yet? Mercury food editor Patrick Coleman is on it, but in the meantime maybe downtown worker types should check it out on your lunch break and report back!
