Stephen Elliott's new book The Adderall Diaries went on sale today, and gosh it's pretty. It reminds me of an old hardback kids book, the ones that looked like they were bound with electrical tape. The book is about a murder investigation, and Elliott's Adderall addiction, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a dash of S&M in there as well. And while I can't speak to the aesthetic qualities of the galleys, this is great:

If you make less than $25,000 you can request a free galley copy of The Adderall Diaries. We have some galley copies (softcover) that were used for the Lending Library prior to the books release and we’re happy to send them to people who can’t afford a hardcover copy of the book. Please only request one if you make less than $25,000 a year. Students encouraged. Send an email to adderall@therumpus.net.

(Stayed tuned for a review of more than just the cover and jacket text, we'll have one in a couple weeks.)

Plus! Former Mr. T Experience frontman Frank Portman just announced the addition of a late-night Portland appearance on his tour for his new YA book Andromeda Klein (obviously, he reads Blogtown). The show's Tues Sept 15 at Plan B, with Blue Skies for Black Hearts and Eric Peabody.
