The Measure 66 and 67 party has turned from singing "Oregon My Oregon" to blasting "Walkin' on Sunshine." But just minutes ago, the lights dimmed for a stolid victory speech from Oregon State Senate President Peter Courtney. His words, immortalized here:

"This campaign has been brutal. Things have been written, things have been said, things have been done to people that are indescribable... When I was a little boy, my mother said to me, ‘If you want to win, you must learn how to win and you must learn how to treat those who do not win.’ The spit of a toad can never reach the top of a cathedral.”
