Jim Thompson, a somewhat obscure crime writer from the mid-century, has been attracting a lot of attention lately due to the new adaptation of his dark classic The Killer Inside Me. Two recent articles highlight his recent popularity and the history of films adapted from his work.

The movie looks like a pretty straight adaptation. Apparently it was so violent that audiences walked out at the Cannes Film Festival screening. I think the preview looks awesome.
