An anti-cop protest last night in North Portland smashed windows and turned over trash cans around Peninsula Park wound up with three arrests. About fifty protesters met up in the park at 10 PM last night to protest the verdict in the case of an Oakland police officer who shot and killed a suspect in the back—protests rocked Oakland last night, leading to a whopping 83 arrests. Portland's protest was smaller and more tame. According to a report posted on Indymedia, protesters smashed the windows of Bank of America and Portland Community College's security office while marched up MLK shouting, "ACAB - All coppers are bastards!"

The first comment on the Indymedia post asks, "WTF? Why PCC? I know folks just want to smash stuff, but the Community College? That makes no sense at all."

Anyway, police trailed the protest on bikes and in cars and eventually arrested three people (23-year-old Bryan Wiedeman, 19-year-old Sara Kasper, and a Jane Doe), charging each with one count of Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.
