[Previously posted, but you need a reminder, don't you?]

Do you just love the Arts?! Do you just love the Portland Mercury?! Then come take my job! We're looking for a new Arts Intern and it could be you!

But first, some criteria:

• We want to get someone in here who is interested in the PDX art scene, which includes interest in books, theater, visual art, dance, comedy, and other things that fit into those general categories. You don't have to like all these things. But it helps if ya do.
• We also want someone who can come in two days a week. Right now I'm here on Wednesdays and Thursdays which seems to work just great. But we're flexible as well.
• We also want someone who can commit to working as our intern for at least three months. There's a bit of a learning curve towards the beginning, so we'd want you to be able to stick around and really hit your stride.
• And additionally we'd like someone who happens to like (or at least be fairly okay with) data entry. That's right! Your primary job will be helping to enter the schedules and blurbs for our arts calendar both on the interwebs and in the paper. I personally, have found this to be an amazing way to learn about all facets of artistic happenings going on in our fair city. If you're trying to stay on the up-and-up in Portland's art realm, this is one helluva a way to stay up to date.
• You'll do other stuff as well. You'll sit in on the weekly editorial meetings and generally laugh a lot. I mean, A LOT. And you might even get the chance to write a piece or two. That's right! Your name. In print.

This office has seriously been a great place to spend some of my time. And I have learned a ton while working here. Interested in filling my shoes? Then go ahead and send an email to the man who signs my "invisible paychecks" (Ned Lannamann) with "Arts Intern" in the subject line. Make sure to include a cover letter, a resumé with relevant experience, and writing samples if you have them. We'll be accepting applications until October 13. Best of luck!
