Tonight's the First Thursday artwalk on the west side, and there are a ton of openings. After the jump are details on a handful of shows I'm excited to check out, including The Autumn Society's Day of the Dead-themed show at Ground Kontrol (featuring painted Nintendo cartridges), Damien Gilley's site-specific experiment in non-Euclidean geometry and faux-data visualization at the Center for Architecture, and APAK's first solo show in Portland since 2006, on view at Grassy Knoll Gallery— plus more!

As always, feel free to use the comments to tell us what you're going to see.

As I mentioned above, there's a Day of the Dead-themed show at Ground Kontrol tonight, featuring Nintendo cartridges painted by 40 artists (curated by artist collective, The Autumn Society). The opening kicks off at 7 pm, and Ground Kontrol is located at 511 NW Couch.

Also mentioned above, Damien Gilley has a new installation at the Center for Architecture (403 NW 11th Ave), entitled Infradraft. It opens from 6-9 pm, and the press release describes the show in the following terms:

In Infradraft, Gilley presents drawings on paper and a site-specific wall drawing exploring non-Euclidean geometry and playful restructuring of the built environment. Utilizing the aesthetics of data visualization and simplified computer graphics, the works depict indeterminate environments that reference mapping strategies. The works challenge the rationality of the design process through the introduction of play, re-organization, and impossibility.
