So today Sarah Palin won a major smarts award: Her word "refudiate" has been named "Word of the Year" by the Oxford Dictionary. As in, "refudiating health care for poor kids" or "I refused to refudiate that 'refudiate' isn't a word."

refudiate verb used loosely to mean “reject”: she called on them to refudiate the proposal to build a mosque.
[origin — blend of refute and repudiate]

The list of words refudiate beat out is pretty great: nom nom ("an expression of delight when eating"), retweet, vuvuzela, top kill, and gleek (you know, the word our Glee blogger Dave Bow made up?), webisode, and Tea Party were all on the top 10 list.
