The kids from "A Christmas Story"! from Portland Center Stage on Vimeo.

They sound just like little grownups, all smart and poised and articulate. I don't like it. Fucking drama kids.

I saw the show a couple nights ago; I basically agree with Noah's conclusion that a theatrical adaptation of the 1983 movie doesn't really need to exist, but given that it does, PCS does a nice job with it. Voiceover duties are handled by one of my favorite local actors, Darius Pierce (Portland's Paul Giamatti), always a pleasure to see him in a big role, and the child actors are not totally annoying, which is really the most you can hope for in any play that requires a whole bunch of 'em. (I only spent about 30% of the show thinking about my next meal, which is better than average for a holiday show. )Tickets n junk here.
