Earlier we wished former Monkee Mike Nesmith a very happy birthday. But didja know that today is ALSO former Monkee Davy Jones' birthday as well? Yup, the two Monkees share the same birthday, which is why their 1967 album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. was called Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. (Get it? Both Nesmith and Jones are Capricorns. Also, astrology isn't real.) Just like Mike, Davy is a talented performer and businessman who went on to... uh... do some stuff after the Monkees... like... hmm. Okay, so Davy didn't produce any classic movies, or do any internet pioneering, or stand at the forefront of music videos in the pre-MTV days like Mike Nesmith did. Nor, uh, did he write song after amazing song (Nesmith wrote "Different Drum," made famous by Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys, as well as great country-rock songs like "Joanne," "Silver Moon," "Nine Times Blue"—not to mention Monkee classics like "Circle Sky," "You Just May Be the One," "The Girl I Knew Somewhere"... the list goes on and on).

Okay, fine. At least Davy was the "cute" one!

Let's see what he looks like now.
