Speaking of making kids safe on the road, KATU reports today that the District Attorney filed no charges against the elderly driver who crashed into three people at the intersection of North Interstate and Lombard, killing a two-year-old boy.

The district attorney's office determined that the crash was an accident and did not warrant any charges. The 75-year-old driver mistook the gas pedal for the brakes, careening into the three people in the crosswalk. The toddler's family has not (yet) pressed any charges.

Once again, a quote from local lawyer Ray Thomas: "If you want to kill somebody and get away with it, you should do it with your car."
