Mayor Sam Adams took some heat last fall when he tried to woo Target to open a big box store in downtown Portland—both because he stridently opposed another big box store, WalMart, coming to town and because LGBT groups were calling for a Target boycott after the company gave a bunch of money to an anti-gay politician.

Well now one of those concerns is off the table: Target hasre-written its donation rules. The new rules say they won't give money to any group or person who is not in the "interests of our guests, team members, shareholders and other stakeholders."
