You're probably familiar with the It Gets Better project: Created by Dan Savage and his husband-in-Canada Terry Miller after a rash of gay teen suicides, it invites LBGTQ adults and their allies to share their experiences of how life "gets better" after high school. The project drew thousands of contributions and upward of 20 million views—President Obama even made a video. (Although... I liked Tim Gunn's better.)

Savage and Miller have just released a collection of essays from "celebrities, teens, and everyday people who have posted videos of encouragement, as well as material from new contributors who have yet to post videos to the site." They'll be at Powells' Burnside store tonight at 7:30 to discuss the project and share the new book.

(If you can't make it tonight, the couple was on Fresh Air about a month ago—you can listen to the episode here.)
