So this "leaked" to the internets over the weekend: The red-band trailer for David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo adaptation, which joins Let Me In and The Office in the proud genre of "Things Remade by Americans Only Because Americans Despise Reading Subtitles and/or Hearing Accents." I never read any of Stieg Larsson's books, nor did I watch Niels Arden Oplev and Daniel Alfredson's film adaptations of 'em—I know I theoretically should, 'cause they're supposed to be good, but they always just looked gooifily sordid to me, giving me the same rapey, skeevy shudders that shit like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit does.

HOWEVER. Fincher's trailer looks predictably badass, probably because he's David Motherfucking Fincher, and also probably because of Trent Reznor and Karen O's thudding cover of “Immigrant Song" that blares through it. Watch it with the volume cranked up.
