Quick reminder: Tomorrow from 8-11 pm, Rocksbox is hosting summer class registration for C.O.P.S. (The Conceptual Oregon Performance School). The free, artist-run classes run June through August, and for anyone looking to enroll in university-level art classes in the near future, this would be a great opportunity to do so on the free.

Instructors include Patrick Rock, director of Rocksbox and Portland State University's Art Department galleries, where he also teaches as an adjunct; Sean Joseph Patrick Carney, an artist and writer, as well as Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) faculty member; recent PNCA MFA recipient Michael Reinsch, whose installation and performance work is a personal high point of our local scene; and last but not least, performance artist Matthew Green, who tried to imprison me behind a wall of hay that one time (spoiler: when I escaped, he threw vegetables all over the place and burned a Canadian flag!).

Rocksbox is located at 6540 N Interstate. For a complete list of summer classes, hop on over to the C.O.P.S. website. (Sidenote: Carney's class sounds particularly fun, focusing on stand-up comedy as a vehicle to discuss theory and practice materials.)
