It's one of the biggest weekends of the year for local shopping (the other biggest weekend being next weekend), and if you play your cards right you'll be done with your purchasing duties before Monday. Hitting the full roster of events would be pretty ambitious if you don't consider shopping an athletic sport, but a few highlights you'd do best not to sleep on:

Give Good Gift is one of the more stellar group sales that's cropped up this season, with a diverse line of fantastic vendors (Pattern People, RillRill, Woonwinkel, Yo Vintage!), plus food (Brass Tacks) and a cash bar. Union/Pine, 525 SE Pine, Fri Dec 2, 7-midnight, Sat Dec 3, 11 am-3 pm

The Sunday Best holiday sale is back for its sixth annual victory lap, with an always well-curated roster of artisans (Better Late Than Never, Camamu, Demimonde, so many more). The Cleaners at the Ace Hotel, 403 SW 10th, Fri Dec 2, 5-9 pm, Sat Dec 3, 10 am-7 pm

Frances May's Off the Back of a Truck Warehouse Sale is an amazing opportunity to score deep discounts on lauded lines from past seasons—not just last season. Can you say 75 percent? 610 SW 12th, Sat Dec 3-Sun Dec 4, 9 am-4 pm

A more complete list of the happs can be found right here, including two store grand openings (Machus and Frocky Jack Morgan). Plus, a bonus event that didn't make it across my desk before press time: Lille Boutique is hosting another month of Lindsey Lynch's compelling photo series, "I See London, I See France," in which she documents in portrait (with faces cropped out) a diverse number of women in their favorite underwear and in poses and environments that hint at their personalities—a project that is ultimately slated to wind up in book form. In addition, Lille will be offering a one-night 10% discount storewide, including Lynch's prints. That's at the eastside location (1007 E Burnside), 6-9 pm.
