Break out the champ(agne)s, it's time for roller derby champs, guys! Cheer on your favorite Rose City Rollers team at the Memorial Coliseum on Saturday for a double header that'll determine who's taking home the big ol' trophy. It'll be last year's victors the Break Neck Betties duking it out with this season's undefeated High Rollers in the main event. While the Heartless Heathers hope to pull a 3rd place win from the spandex clutch of the Guns N Rollers. Season 7 Championships, Memorial Coliseum, Saturday, June 2, 5:45 pm, $14-20, tix here or ask your favorite roller girl to avoid service charges.

A few other salient points:

SANDWICHES: Big-Ass Sandwiches has a week-long Championships sandwich with ham, bacon, and coleslaw (and fries, natch). Spotted a bevy of shiny-haired roller girls there bouting with their mouths. I should probably caption that "Kick-Asses at Big-Ass." Plus, I managed to knock over a small child while taking that pic, which made me feel very in the spirit of Championships.

ROLLER GALS AT BARS: Tomorrow night, the fishnet crew is headed out to various bars hoping to sell you cheap Championship tickets (they've be known to sell two-for-ones). And hell, I'm sure you could buy those gals a drink. They're always thirsty.
