I am most familiar with Portland photographer Christine Taylor in a fashion context—she's shot stories for designers like Bryce Black, Studio SKB, Dawn Sharp, Heather Treadway, and Sword + Fern, and is also an adjunct professor of fashion photography at the Art Institute. However, for next week's First Friday, she'll be debuting a show of "conceptual human landscapes called American Anthology, "a series of 20x30 digital landscape photographs shot around the U.S. over a period of two years... The brief periods seen in each frame attempt to question a moment of indefinite truth; revealing ambiguous relationships between humans, their environment, and a time in between chaos where the definition of what is happening is indefinite."

Nonetheless, the show will be held on familiar retail territory, at one of the 811 E Burnside building's newer additions, Customary Clothing. Opening reception is Friday, July 6, 811 E Burnside, Ste 222, from 6-9 pm.
