Skeptics Sound Off at Public Airing of Feds' Deal with Portland Police

It occurs to me that if these folks decided they WERE happy with the deal, they'd be out of a job. Or the spotlight, or the self-importance, or whatever.
@Reymont, I collaborated with Dan from Copwatch on several different issues. He's got a lot more going on than just police accountability work. Same with the ACLU, they've been very helpful with finding lawyer for soldiers who need legal assistance.

For these people, professional activists, it's not about spotlight or boosting their ego, it comes from a genuine concern about this community. If they wanted attention they would run for political office.

Personally, I think police reforms are going to come only when the drug war is over. Until that happens, police will always consider themselves as paramilitaries, not civil servants.
