The Oregon Department of Justice has launched an investigation into felony-level Republican election fraud in Clackamas, after reports of an elections worker filling in voters' ballots for Republican candidates.

It's not clear how many ballots were affected or what will happen to them—all the state election's office will confirm is that an investigation is underway into alleged pro-Republican ballot tampering.

Clackamas County has recently had a complicated relationship with elections. In 2010, the county elections office, overseen by Clerk Sherry Hall, accidentally printed two races on a May ballot that were supposed to go on the November ballot. That mistake cost the county $120,000, according to the Oregonian. Then last fall, the state elections office had to step in to oversee a signature verification process because Hall’s office had erroneously accepted invalid signatures.
