One-time Portlander/former Comics Alliance editor Laura Hudson just landed a gig as entertainment editor at Wired.com—so don't be surprised if you see a few familiar bylines cropping up over there in the future. Exhibit A: This piece by Aaron Colter (formerly of Dark Horse Comics), about how Portland-based artist Chad Essley became the "webmaster and primary public liaison" for software mogul John McAfee, currently considered a "person of interest" by the Belizean government for the murder of another American ex-pat.

The whole story is totally crazy, but Colter's piece in Wired focuses on the Portland cartoonist, who is currently at work on a graphic novel about his experiences with McAfee. The story includes two exclusive pages from Essley's graphic novel.
