Hey Blogtown, Help Me Get My Grandma a Book

Comments

1
The Hearts of Horses by Molly Gloss

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce

Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell

And pretty much anything by Dorothy Sayers.
2
Are Jon Ronson books on audio? Mee-Maw might dig 'em.
3
anything really in the harlequin romance series should be good.
4
50 Shades of Grey
7
He means a book she hasn't already read, Graham.

Unfortunately there isn't an audio recording of Naomi Wolf's Vagina yet, so I got nothing.
8
Water for Elephants was a good read. Or maybe a memoir of someone she's interested in.
9
If she hasn't already read/heard The Help I would recommend it.
10
Get her any of the classics+zombies/seamonsters/vampires, etc, books. Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters, or Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, or Jane Slayer. Classics with a funny new twist that any granmother can enjoy.
11
The Other Boleyn Sister is sort of like porn, but sort of like history too.
13
"The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield
14
You guys are great! Thanks!

Get her a book by Alice Munro (Grandma-age Canadian author, one of the best short story writers ever). Excellent writing, not sex-free, but it's the kind of sex Grandmas might approve of or at least understand.
