Ericson Core, the cinematographer who made his feature directorial debut on Invincible, has been set by Alcon Entertainment partners Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove to direct Point Break, the remake of the 1991 action thriller that starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. (Via.)
I forgot what Invincible was so I had to look it up. It is Marky Mark's football movie. Anyway, just to grind some salt into the wound, Deadline adds that the film will now be set "in the world of international extreme sports."

As a deeply respected, world-renowned Point Break expert, I find this news repugnant and horrifying; Point Break was lightning in a bottle, adrenalin in a shot glass, and surfing is the source, man, swear to god, and WHO IS DOING THIS?
