The Film Stage tweeted this last week, but I just found a few minutes to watch it and I though it was neat and maybe you other film nerds would to: a 20-minute-long history of aspect ratios, complete with Cinerama, Cinemascope, WWII bomber gunners, Edison, an anamorphic Frenchman (sort of), Hitchcock, Ford, Lean, and a desperate Hollywood frantically trying to up its technical game in order to compete with television. (Sound familiar?)
