MUSIC—The thickly accented antics of Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hütz have come to embody the group's raucous stage presence. It's gotten to the point that, with the fresh release of Gogol's Pura Vida Conspiracy, Hütz is both a caricatured mascot for the New York gypsy-punk outfit and talented, musical bandleader. If the group's robust touring schedules tell you anything, though, it's that Hütz isn't content just to lead. He wants you along for the ride. DVH

MUSIC—Having the guitar slingers in Band of Horses trot across your eardrums is like letting the mane of a wild stallion flow over you, as you lope across a magical sunset beach. Get back in the saddle, as the South Carolina band returns to their old galloping grounds of the Pacific Northwest. Best part: They're surely gonna play "The Funeral." NL
