As you may or may not already know, The Society of Typographic Afficianados is holding its annual TypeCon event in Portland this year, and it starts tomorrow. Tonight at 6pm at Reading Frenzy on Mississippi, however, they've teamed up with Ian Lynam to curate an expressive typography show called Letterfirm. Lynam is an internationally renowned designer whose work you've been seeing in Portland for years. Seriously, looking at this guy's portfolio is like walking down an impossibly cool street in Portland (clients include Le Pigeon, YACHT, and NASA).

Lynam's been posting some pretty amazing pictures of work for the show to the Facebook event page for a couple weeks. The list of participating artists and designers is deep and also a major timesuck, but the show opens at six tonight, so don't get too distracted.

The show runs until September 18th, but tonight's opening reception should a blast. The best thing about this show is that it heralds the return of Reading Frenzy. For Portland literati who have missed the boundless enthusiasm of the Independent Press Emporium, this will be one of the first chances to check out Reading Frenzy's new space on North Mississippi.
