By the time style-focused events like Design Week Portland and FashioNXT have come and gone, it'll be just about time to dive into the pre-holiday onslaught of pop-ups and local-vendor sales, so from now till January get ready for a weekly roundup of events—cuz if you're gonna be a consumer, you're better off being a local one. This week:

—Tonight, Opulent Fibers has put together a lineup of West Coast designers working primarily in felt for a fashion and trunk show called Pleasure and Purpose. Expect funky hats to be involved. Tonight, 6:30-9 pm

—New York jewelry artist Erica Weiner is shopping around for a potential West Coast outpost, and guess who's on the short list? She'll be bringing her jewels to town for a pop-up at Beam & Anchor starting tomorrow through Oct 10. (Monday appt. only; Tuesday-Saturday: 11 am-6 pm; Sunday: noon-5 pm.)

Hand-Eye Supply is launching its most recent quarterly catalog, which showcases their somewhat fetish-y selection of work aprons, as modeled by over 20 Portland makers of various sorts: "bakers, firefighters, furniture makers, industrial designers, artists, musicians; craftsmen and women and more." As is their habit, they're throwing a party for the occasion, with complimentary refreshments and snacks from Pacific Pie Company. Plus the early arrivals will be able to take a crack at making your own leather apron in back of the shop—you get to keep it, so try not to mess it up. Quarterly launch party Thursday Oct 3, 6-9 pm

—Hot on the heels of being named in the top 100 salons in Portland by Elle, French Cut Hair is showing off what they're capable of with a couture hair show that doubles as a celebration of their one-year anniversary. Thursday, Oct 3rd, 7 pm, $8-10 (includes wine and hors d'oeuvres)

Union Rose is doubling up on trunk shows for First Friday, featuring both apparel by Clair Vintage Inspired and jewelry by Rubygirl. Both designers will be on hand to chat, and there'll be bubbles and snacks out for ya, too. Trunk show Friday, Oct 4, 6-8:30 pm

Summerland is re-opening in the 811 E Burnside building, taking 15% off the entire shop, and inviting vintage-purveyor buddies Clever Nettle to join. Nettle is actually winding itself down so that owner Anja Verdugo can concentrate on her photography, so she'll be unloading pieces for real cheap: "nothing over $30, even for the great stuff." Friday Oct 4, 6-9 pm

Machus is throwing a launch for their new favorite LA brand, Chapter, who owner Justin Machus says "do amazing well thought out progressive designs within a perfect price category." Friday, Oct 4, 7-10 pm

—This month's Discovere'verer series at Sword + Fern features guest comedian Jen Olesen, who's put together a smorgasbord of ceramics from folks like Liam Drain and Libby Werbel. Friday, Oct 4, 6-9 pm

—Boston jewelry artist Melle Finelli is setting up shop at Physical Element for a two-night trunk show of her designs in metal. Friday, Oct 4 & Saturday Oct 5, 5-8 pm
