Today at noon, Portland author Pauls Toutonghi will be on Think Out Loud to talk about Joe Bell, the La Grande man who was recently hit by a car and killed while on a cross-country walk to raise awareness about bullying. Bell's son, Jadin, who was gay, hanged himself in January.

God, that is the saddest sentence.

Toutonghi wrote about Bell in September for Salon; his essay—he walked with Bell for a while, though the mountains in Utah—is heartbreaking. It will make you sad, but you should read it anyway.
