BASKETBALL
—No matter how much Portland may shift, grow, and evolve, one thing stays the same: an enduring, lava-hot hatred of Los Angeles and their reviled Lakers basketball team. Blazers vs. Lakers won't be the epic battle of West Coast titans it was in the late '90s/early 2000s, but by God does this city relish the opportunity to put a foot in LA's ass. BR

MUSIC—Winsome Philly group Dr. Dog is a band of many talents. They personally converted an old silversmith mill to suit their recording purposes. They peddle a range of custom leather knickknacks and dreamcatchers on Etsy. And they play damned decent, perpetually chill rock. Tonight's show is the band's first in Portland since the release of their latest album, B-Room, in October. DVH
