The NW Film Center's "Top Down: Rooftop Cinema" series kicks off this Thursday night on the roof of the Hotel deLuxe, where they'll be screening movies outside for the next six weeks, paired with alcohol and preceded by live music. Provided you get there early enough to score a good seat, these screenings are an obscenely pleasant way to spend a summer evening. The lineup:

Thursday, July 24: Notorious
Thursday, July 31: Bottle Rocket
Thursday, August 7: The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T
Thursday, August 14: Vanishing Point
Thursday, August 21: Edward Scissorhands
Thursday, August 28: The King of Comedy

That's great: You've got some of Hitchcock and Scorsese's best work with Notorious and King of Comedy; you've got a depressing reminder of how great Tim Burton used to be; you've got a tremendously underrated and underseen Wes Anderson movie; you've got fucking Vanishing Point. I've never seen The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. I'm assuming it's a sequel to The A-Team.

Admission to each of these is $9, but thanks to the NW Film Center, I've got a "season pass" that's up for grabs for Blogtown readers. The lucky winner—along with a plus one—will be on the list for every single one of those six rooftop screenings. Yes, you're right, that is a pretty sweet deal, and yes, you're welcome.

To enter to win, email me no later than 4 pm on Wednesday, July 23, and make sure your subject line is "Rupert Pupkin." I'll pick a winner—randomly, or based on whoever's name I like the best, or based on whoever offers me the best bribe, who knows—at 4 pm on Wednesday, July 23, then email them back to let them know they've won.

That's it! Have at.
