UPDATE 12:44 PM: NBC News have more information on suspect Lakeisha Holloway.

Here's what NBC News has learned about Holloway:

She was awarded an Education Credit Management Corp. scholarship in 2009. A statement released by ECMC Foundation at the time said that recipients were selected by educators in the sophomore year of high school to receive $4,000 through the scholarship fund.

In 2011, Holloway was convicted of two traffic offenses, according to Multnomah County, Oregon records.

Less than a year later, an article in The Skanner, an Oregon news site, lauded Holloway for receiving a role model award from the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center, which assists at-risk youth. The Skanner reported that Holloway had been homeless during her freshman year of high school, but with help from the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center, she was pursuing a career in forest service. NBC News has not independently confirmed those details.

ORIGINAL POST:
As mentioned in Good Morning, News, a former Portland woman has been arrested and charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and child abuse for repeatedly driving her car onto the sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip, and mowing down 37 pedestrians—critically injuring three and killing one. (The driver also had a three-year-old in the car with her at the time, who is unhurt.) Officials have just released more details on the tragedy including identifying the suspect, 24-year-old Lakeisha Holloway who, according to Cook County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, lived in Portland up until a week ago, and has since been homeless.

The sheriff was also quick to say that the event was not an act of "terrorism." Though Holloway left the scene of the attack, she was quickly located by police at a nearby hotel, where she was taken into custody without incident. The attack on pedestrians seemed "intentional" according to police, and she did not appear to be under the influence, though her blood tests are still pending. According to TMZ, who claims to have a copy of the police report, Holloway claimed she wasn't drunk, but simply "tired."

Lakeisha Holloway told police she was trying to sleep in her car on several hotel properties but security kept running her off.

In the police report, obtained by TMZ, Holloway described a "stressful period of time today where she was trying to rest/sleep inside her vehicle with her daughter."

Holloway told cops she doesn't really know how she ended up on the Strip. The report says, "She would not explain why she drove on the sidewalk but remembered a body bouncing off of her windshield, breaking it."

TMZ also says that Holloway is a model and clothing designer who was in Las Vegas for some sort of gig.

Among her victims were four wrestlers from Oregon's Pacific University, who were injured but will survive. The victim who was killed has been identified as Jessica Valenzuela from Arizona, who was visiting Las Vegas with her husband.

More updates to come.
