GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that. Put your hand in my hand baby, don't ever look back. LET'S GO TO PRESS.

We've got more on the story about high levels of cadmium and arsenic found in SE Portland. As Daniel Forbes reported yesterday, two of the city's fancy glass makers did not put important pollution control devices on their flumes that may have kept those heavy metals from spewing into the air. And a former Bullseye employee talks, telling of some disturbing practices he encountered while working at the company. It's interesting, frightening stuff, SO READ IT.

Governor Kate Brown is NOT HAPPY about this situation and has given DEQ and OHA three days to answer questions about when they learned about the polluters, and what they did to curb them.

Some good news from this situation: An environmental company ran tests in schools near the Bullseye Glass plant (such as Cleveland, Winterhaven, and more), and found no detectable levels of cadmium or arsenic in the air. There was a big community meeting last night at Cleveland High School about the situation, and we'll have an update on that later in the day.

Now let's check in on the ridiculousness of the Malheur Refuge Occupation, which is in Day 40—for those who are keeping score at home. Before militant leader Robert "LaVoy" Finicum was shot by law enforcement, he kept shouting for Grant County Sheriff Glenn Palmer who Finicum said would "protect him." And the sheriff is not helping his case.

Commissioner Brad Avakian is investigating a Sellwood Bridge contractor who allegedly threatened violence against whistleblowing employees.

As expected, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump take the New Hampshire primary. While establishment Democrats saw this coming, Republicans are now in full PANIC MODE.

ABC News is reporting that New Jersey's Chris Christie will be giving up his bid for the presidency today.

The Zika virus has really taken hold in Venezuela, where experts say the disease has infected as many as 400,000.

OH, KANYE. What have you done now?

The Supreme Court has blocked President Obama's climate change plan, and put a freeze on the EPA's rules to cut carbon emissions at power plants.

A Texas prosecutor has been disbarred for sending an innocent man to death row.

The Michigan attorney general is considering criminal charges—including involuntary manslaughter—to those behind Flint's poisoned water crisis.

Yes, but what about this WEATHER situation? Partly cloudy today with a high of 58, but cooler, wetter weather is just around the bend.

And finally, Valentine's Day is coming... and, well, some people are getting desperate.
