In case you aren't aware, right now it's New York Fashion Weekโ€”or maybe you are aware but don't give a flying fuck. Well, you should give a flying fuck, because one of our very own designers, German Madrigal, will be debuting a new collection on this esteemed platform. Madrigal first came onto the Portland fashion radar when he won the FashioNXT emerging designer competition with his gender-neutral minimalist designs, and was then featured in various publications, including the one you're currently reading (read the article here.) Madrigal, who is still a student at The Art Institute of Portland, first showed in NYFW in 2014, and was invited back again along with 13 other students from various Ai locations around the country to debut his F/W 2016 collection. You can watch the entire show streamed live from the comfort of wherever you happen to be at 5:30 pm TODAY by clicking this link.

Backtalk is closing their original North Portland location after three years to focus on their new westside location. This obviously means a party with huge discounts on their vintage clothing, and 20-75% off pieces from in-house designer Alexa Stark. Fixtures will be on sale as well.
Backtalk, 3962 N Mississippi, Wednesday February 17, 5-9 pm
