Portland's own Summer Cannibals have announced the May 27 release of their highly anticipated third studio album, Full of It, their first to be released on Kill Rock Stars. Today they premiered the album's lead single, "Go Home," on Spin.

Summer Cannibals got their name from a Patti Smith song, a choice that reflects the band's deep reverence for their influences. They absorb the music of artists they love, including fellow Pacific Northwest bands like Bikini Kill and the Thermals, and use this inspiration as a cliff to jump off into their own uncharted artistic territory. "Go Home" is an electrifying punk track, and sounds like a musical wet willy—unapologetically bruising and relentlessly menacing.

Summer Cannibals are playing a show at Bunk Bar on Friday, March 4, which should be the perfect opportunity to hear more songs from Full of It. They're also embarking on a tour opening for the Thermals which will take them to the East Coast and back during the month of April and the beginning of May.
