Fantastic local radio station XRAY.fm is extending its reach beyond the airwaves with XRAY Records.

Summer Cannibals bassist Jenny Logan and partner Maryam Hanafi Troncelliti will take the helm of the new label, with XRAY Records' debut release slated for early spring. This first album will be a collection of material from Charlie Salas Humara and Marius Libman's enlightening weekly talk show, Heavy Breather. Other forthcoming releases include new albums from Sun Angle (also featuring Salas Humara and Libman), Blesst Chest, and a 7-inch from the Ghost Ease.

While it's an interesting jump for a radio station to start releasing records, XRAY.fm has always championed Portland's killer music—an effort that makes some sense of their foray into the label business.

Sun Angle and the Ghost Ease will play the XRAY Records launch party Friday, April 8 at Bunk Bar.
