How fitting that, on the day that the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback celebrates his national championship (and undoubtedly also celebrates the fact that he dodged rape charges), we'd hear about a young rape victim in Missouri who has tried to commit suicide for a third time, in the face of continuing harassment by supporters of her football-player rapist. Look, I'm a penis-haver, and the father of two more penis-havers. I even admit to loving to watch football. But how can we not be outraged—ALL OF US—about what is happening to young women every day, facilitated by communities who value sports prowess (or pop/rock/rap/acting prowess) over the truth and continually blame victims?

Please join me in allowing no mention of the 'Noles' victory to be mentioned without the verbal asterisk, "Led by a rapist," to be appended to the conversation.
