It's that time of year again. As dump truck-loads of rock, dirt and compost begin to appear all over the neighborhood like so many piles of God's shit the streets are once again nearly impossible to navigate safely. On my very narrow block alone there are already two PODS a giant green railroad car thing full of construction debris, and now four new piles of rocks and soil. Those most recent additions were deposited so haphazardly that they extend nearly half-way across the street. It is difficult for a single car to navigate this chicane-like mess, but throw in another car running the gauntlet in the other direction? Nearly impossible.
On the plus side I did get to see someone in a brand new Escalade sideswipe that big metal railroad car while trying to avoid plowing through a pile of dirt. That at least made me smile.
