A series when I take a lame-ass quote from Bike Portland and turn it into a poem:
I like to think smugly
that I’ve given a lot of respect to the world
in my life, even stopping a stop signs
waiting at red lights when it’s late at night teaching my kids to respect the laws I think are stupid.
I love this bike riding life!
but the world at large does not
see this respect and give it back to me.
The world instead gives me a lot of anger.
I like to think smugly.
