A mere comment won't suffice. As a 'Portlander', meaning I moved here 5yrs ago into a house in NE with 5 other white, college grads with lib arts degrees let me be clear: Portland has NO issue with telling people exactly how it thinks whether isn't reasonable or not to be shared.

If I have learned anything in my last 5yrs in this unfair city it is that people will insult you, repeatedly, to your face, rudely and without reason, and pass it all of a 'just being honest'. From dates to friends, to casual interactions at networking events, I've had various iterations of the same because you know, 'just being honest'. No, you are not being 'honest' you are just socially inept and fucking rude. Honesty is saying to someone you don't want to hang out (instead of just flaking), telling someone that you think their attitude is too negative, or they don't speak in the way you like, or they come off a certain way to you is just rude, not 'honesty, it's just fucking impolite. Keep it to yourself. No one fucking cares what you think.
