A big sarcastic thank you to every angry person ever to call customer service and assume we wield magic powers that allow us to move the heaven and the earth for you when you want corporate company policy to change. It is very flattering that you think I have as much power as a lawyer and CEO combined to actually alter legal contracts with your verbal consent. And as much as I wish it were the case, I do not have the authority to hire people at our medium sized company to wait around idly for seven hours and forty five minutes so during that fifteen minute span of the day when people all call randomly at once you won't have to wait on hold for over two minutes. What I do have the ability to do is clean up the mistakes of others in my office, people who don't take phone calls every day and get paid twice as much as I do. So please, next time you want us (Customer Service Reps) to help you to the best our ability, treat us with the respect and dignity we deserve. We are human beings too. And we will help you as best we can, within the scope of our knowledge. And our pay grade.
