It used to be the ultimate SE PDX brunch Mecca. A half drunk group of awesome people would serve a bunch of hung over and stoned parents brunch as their kids quietly destroyed the place. The music was an eclectic mix of hard core gangsta rap, Built to Spill records, and old school soul music. It was an amazing place to be.
But last Christmas the owner sold to a frumpy trust fund couple who have changed the long loved establishment for the worst.
Most of the long term employees quit and were replaced by newly transplanted posers.
These new owners have managed to make the lines longer, the service worse, raised the price of the food, and turned on the Muzak. They have no style and no creativity of their own, so naturally they used their parents money to buy some. This once staple of SE PDX is gone the way of division street... tacky and devoid of any sense of personality. So enjoy a cup of Portland roasting as all of Portland is turned into NW 23rd by North face wearing yuppies who claim to be "down to earth"....
