One counterpoint on Built to Spill:

Yes, they may have peaked 11 years ago, but this is basically the only chance to see them be, you know, good again. Doug Martsch, the Peter Frampton of indie rock, will have to keep all that goddamn guitar noodling in check, seeing as how they're playing "Perfect From Now On," not their own shitty version of Live/Dead.

I would still rather see Reggie Watts though.

Oh god, yes, Alison. I too have reviewed Shakespeare in the Park. Free effing Shakespeare in the Park. We had TWO of them, and I forced a freelancer to review one right by my rather desperately nicer than it could have been review of the other.

I'm also hurting b/c the damn TBA starts the same damn night as the first music director candidate hits the Eugene Symphony for a free concert. Hello? September 5? KIND OF BUSY THAT NIGHT, EUGENE? Anyway. You enjoy Antony. I'll try real hard not to be jealous of you, Stephen Beaudoin, Brett Campbell or the thousands of other people at the Oregon Symphony.

At least I'm not going to Free Shakespeare in the Park.

Do NOT....I repeat....do NOT miss Reggie Watts. It is difficult to explain what he does because he's a complete original and one of the single most entertaining acts I've EVER seen (Or ever will see). He is by turns insanely hilarious and mind-meltingly entertaining. There is some stuff of his on YouTube if you wanna get a taste, but it has nothing to on the energy that shoots off the stage at a live show.

Please wait...
