Should be an interesting meeting. It's the policy of the City of Portland to increase housing density in all of our neighborhoods. They want the house next to you to be replaced by a duplex. They don't state it just like that, but that's the policy.
It's very strange place where current residents, particularly owners who are paying property taxes, seem to support a "Portland Way" which makes our neighborhoods more congested and our streets less usable (another unspoken but obvious policy of the City.)
Less usable streets, Blabby? I'd say quite the opposite -- more usable neighborhoods. I'm looking forward to the new grocery store slated to go into the new condo building in my neighborhood because it will be the closest store to me. Assuming the economy recovers at some point in the next few years, all those new residents in the condo (coupled with whatever other efforts to increase density around here are undertaken) ought to mean more businesses and more services in closer proximity. These things only make life easier.

Anyway, does anyone know why Tanzamook (TM) developer, Ry Koteen won't answer my questions about his 10 condo Irvington box?
