I don't drink at either of these places (or any sports bar, for that matter), but I did happen to come across this article just today:

Thanks for the warning. I despite sports bars and the people who love them.

My friends near the East side Blitz noticed it was becoming less fratboy-ish, and so we decided we'd check it out a month or so ago because of that. Played some pool, had some decent food, chilled, and without having to be surrounded by sports fans and overgrown collegians. I was actually planning to do it again this weekend, but now that I know they're once again courting the sports-dude crowd, forget it.

The one down in the Pearl would get a little Fratboy-ish on the weekends but Ladd has always been the chill place for the regular folks to catch a game. Thank goodness they caught it in time.

I've visited the Blitz before and after changes. My money won't be spent there very often under the new look. Now, it's just another cookie-cutter Pearl establishment. Can't we get and keep anything unique in that district?

Please wait...
