> While I understand the need to uphold the sanctity of the citizen initiative process
While I understand that 1 + 1 = 2, I nevertheless ANGRILY INSIST that it is actually 3.
Come on, people. Californians voted 52-48 to ban gay marriage. End of story. If you want to change that, send up another referendum. Don't count on the courts.
So the Californians voted, they voted against gay marriage, and now the courts are upholding this ruling. This, at least to me, isn't the issue main issue. The issue is that Californians/the law makers didn't have the right in the first place to deny the rights of same sex couples. An unjust law isn't a law, and people need not pay heed to it. Totes absurd.
