I'm sorry, I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I personally can't stand "End of Times" or "End of the World" type movies. The fact that they're always predicated on a psuedo-religious conception of mankind's existence that simply assumes that our feeble understanding of time is somehow relevant and applicable to, or of some import to the rest of the universe is not only astoundingly myopic, but also glaringly stupid.

I'm sorry, but objects in space don't know what the date is, aren't governed by some prophetic mumbo-jumbo, and aren't waiting for a specific metaphysical cue to plummet to earth and grind our civilization to dust.

However, feel free to bring on any other comet/meteor/hostile alien invasion type disaster films. Those can be at least somewhat plausible.
