I see. So now the Mercury thinks it's a good thing to have a brewhaha about marriage equality with all the gay adama supporters in one room while all the gay adams detractors stay home in disgust?

Just today while canvassing I met a sixty/seventy year old gay lady who called Adams, which expletive, I cannot recall.

Pathetic, Merc.

@gonetorio: keep up the good work, can't wait to get out there next week myself!

Who would want Sam officiating their wedding?

I'm withholding my gay dollars from the Democratic Party locally and nationally until President Obama and the Democratic controlled US Congress keeps its promise on Don't Ask Don't Tell.

Rondine, just be ready for all sorts of interesting responses.

"not right now, I'm having trouble breathing and need to get my inhaler, but I'll sign it later";
(elderly woman in pharmacy parking lot)

"yeah, I like to keep things lively";
(older man outside Cooper's coffee shop)

"no, because I'm not a bigot";
(young man in Home Depot parking lot)

"how come Foxworthy got kicked out and he didn't even lie about anything?";
(young African American dad, out on a bike ride with his kid)

"I'm gay and I can't believe what this SOB did to us, we've been trying so long to keep up our image, and, I just hope he gets recalled";
(older woman at the bank)

"How many times can I sign?";
(many different people)

"I've been waiting for you for days";
(ditto)

@gonetorio hahahaha

Love the "waiting for you for days" people!

Amen gonetorio, and as if inviting an openly gay mayor to a marriage equality event wasn't bad enough, the Mercury posted an ad for one of your recall locations and forgot to include the address. I am sure it is somewhere on 39th Avenue. You should get over there and fix their mistake by posting all your recall locations.

Don't forget the gun show. I saw that one in the comments on a Portland Tribune story but it seems to have been excluded from the main list on your website. Since tomorrow is Sunday, are you aware of any churches where people can sign that have not made the official list?

I don't understand the problem with inviting an openly gay mayor to a marriage equality event.

The recall campaign is not hosting events at churches. Churchgoers are free to go to the website and help out.

(Along with gun afficionados, city hall bureaucrats, fencing enthusiasts, tango dancers, clubhoppers, retirees, the hip, the cool, the depraved, the ordinary people of Portland, and everyone else.)

You can help out if you wish, by fixing the Merc's mistake. The 39th address is on the recallsamadams.com website.

Personally I have done a little bit today for the campaign, canvassing from 8.30-10 at a busy grocery store parking lot, for 30 signatures or so.

Funniest quotes today "recall that guy! But i'm not signing anything", and "gimme that!!"

Please wait...
